Sweet Gum/beauty Forms
Elm, silk, clays, manure, portland cement, gum tree branch, propolis
each component approx. 50"d
The work is a collection of related explorations of Beauty and Knowledge forms through an on-going study of the 19c German Kindergarten Guide. Components consist of embroidery frames covered in two layers of silk, lending a sense of vibrancy and movement through moray patterns; a weighted earthen beauty form, and a protruding gum tree branch entombed in propolis. The propolis is bee collected plant resins, and charges the surrounding space with an intimate scent of indigenous plant resins.
